Bestie-ary has released!

Version 1 is finally out, and I'm ready to kick back a little bit and see what people think about it :)
This project was a little experiment that I underwent over the course of 3 months, starting mid-September of 2023. It started as an off-the-cuff sorta deal after I was progressively getting more and more obsessed with virtual pets, like Tamagotchi and Digimon, and got pretty disappointed looking for mobile/PC equivalents. So, I found gDevelop and tried my hand at making one myself!

In the state the game is in, you can fully run cycles, raising a lil' Bestie.  Originally, I wanted to be more ambitious and add things like proper shops, an 'adventure mode' where you go out exploring with your little guy, and even more Eggs/Rosters to load. For now though, it's fairly competent, focusing solely on the care and raising aspect! I used to have an issue with starting projects, only to let the scope of it get outside of what I'm comfortable with. So, I'm pretty proud of myself that I was able to finish what I consider to be the needed mechanics in a relatively small time frame.

I do plan on continuing to support this game in the future, I know for Version 2 I wanna implement all those cut features proper. Also as I was messing with the engine, I found out that a lot of my code at the start was... inefficient,, So most of this is going to have to go under a major rewrite before the next major release.

In the meantime! I hope to see some feedback and what you guys think, one thing I do lament is that the game can be kind of obtuse in what is required of the player? Eventually I'll drop a PDF explaining all the weird minutia (or better yet, include that information in the game somewhere), but until then, you can join my Community Discord! I'm more likely to see feedback and bug reports there, where we have a thread for that. Mind you, that this is like my general projects server, so most of the channels are dedicated to stuff like my digital art and other wacky stuff like that.
